Tips to sheriff on Facebook help ID burglary suspect


OTTAWA — Tips received from the public in response to a sheriff’s department Facebook post aided in the identification of a suspect in a residential burglary case, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office announced this weekend.

At about 4:10 p.m. Friday, La Salle County investigators with assistance from detectives and officers from Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office and Dekalb police department arrested the suspect at a residence in Dekalb.

Nicholas Bower, 32, of Aurora is charged with residential burglary and transported to La Salle County Jail.

“The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who came forward with information,” a news release from the sheriff’s office read.
