The Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved action against an officer for posting comments against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government on Facebook.

Rajeev Yadav, deputy director general in the employment department, was suspended in July last year for allegedly writing against the state government.

On July 2, 2018, a probe was ordered against Rajeev Yadav and he was suspended three days later.

However, he was later reappointed as the regional employment officer after being accused of conspiring against the government.

The matter was reported to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) that didn’t approve taking punitive measures against him.

However, the Yogi Adityanath government has stated that Yadav violated the norms meant for state government employees.

The UP cabinet, in a meeting on Tuesday, cleared a proposal in which it reiterated action against the accused officer for allegedly being critical of the government.
